Youth Mental Health First Aid
Concerned about your kids, the kids in the neighborhood, your faith community, your community group? Youth Mental Health First Aid is a training curriculum focused on helping youth (12-18) who may be experiencing a mental health challenge or a crisis.
The training introduces participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, builds understanding of the importance of early intervention and teaches individuals how to help a youth experiencing a mental health crisis or challenge.
Youth Mental Health First Aid uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to assess a mental health crisis, select interventions and provide initial help, and connect young people to professional, peer, social and self-help care.
Youth Mental Health First Aid is available through the TTI Training Department. Anyone may sign up for the course. It is particularly useful for anyone who regularly works or interacts with adolescents. For more information, contact the Training Department at .
