Trauma Informed Care

TTI has joined service providers nationwide in offering Trauma Informed Care to those we serve. Trauma informed providers base service delivery on an understanding of the impact of trauma and the specific needs of trauma survivors.

A significant percentage of individuals seeking clinical help from TTI have experienced trauma in their past. This trauma can have its origins in such areas as a person’s childhood, negative personal experiences, natural disasters, serious accidents and many others. Left unaddressed, trauma can contribute to chronic, long-term health and mental health problems. Without attention to trauma informed principles, treatment itself can retraumatize patients.

Through Trauma Informed Care, TTI psychiatrists and case managers learn about the triggers and vulnerabilities of consumers, allowing them to most effectively help those they serve move toward healing and recovery.
