Trauma-Informed Care
TTI just completed participation in a two-year training initiative on Trauma-Informed Care. Through a $100,000 grant award from the Ethel and James Flinn Foundation, staff members worked on ways in which to broaden trauma-informed treatment options for consumers who have suffered trauma. TTI received assistance with the Trauma-Informed Care initiative from the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare.
The focus is on investigating national models for clinical approaches, providing professional training and effectively implementing evidence-based trauma-informed services. Projected outcomes include: Enhancing staff skills as they relate to trauma informed services; increasing individual ability to cope effectively with past and current trauma; reducing trauma triggers; and increasing the overall quality of life of those we serve.
