SSVF program gets CARF accreditation
TTI's Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program is now CARF-accredited. CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) International surveyors made on-site visits to evaluate SSVF and determined that the program was in conformance to CARF standards. This means TTI, which already has been accredited in several programs, is now also accredited in Services Coordination. This accreditation will extend through April 2017.
The SSVF program helps enhance the housing stability and independent living skills of very low income veteran families occupying permanent housing in Genesee, Jackson, Lapeer, Macomb, Oakland and Saginaw counties. TTI is able to offer the program due to a grant it received from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The program is administered through services such as outreach, case management, assistance in obtaining VA and other benefits, and temporary financial assistance.
CARF International said the accreditation is an indication of TTI’s dedication and commitment to improving the quality of the lives of the persons served. CARF surveyors noted that though the program has been in operation for just a year, it has “demonstrated its effectiveness in finding housing for a significant percentage of the population that the organization has served.”
